Columbiana – Dixie C. Sherrill, 86, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home with her husband by her side.
Dixie was born February 23, 1938, in Hanoverton, to the late Lloyd and Madeline Anderson (Townsend). Dixie had lived in the Columbiana area for many years.
Dixie was a loving mother and adored grandmother. Dixie was a stay-at-home mom to her children. She was a wonderful cook. When she periodically worked outside the home, she was a cook for the elderly. Dixie was a very kind and loving lady. She will be missed by many.
Dixie cherished her family and took great pride in being a loving wife, mom and grandma. There were many family get-togethers and holidays that were shared. Her children and grandchildren were the energy to her life and she glowed when all were together. She was always proud of her children and grandchildren. She always had a cute smile and little wave for the little ones.
Dixie leaves to cherish her memory her husband Jerry Sherrill, Sr., whom she married on May 1, 1955; her children, Jerry Sherrill, Jr., Janice (Bill) Shanabarger, Vicki (Wayne) Smith, Lugene Brewer; sister Janet Boyle and brother Lloyd “Ike” Anderson.
