Jeffrey R. Himes, 58, Petersburg, passed away at 4:27 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman. Mr. Himes, the son of Robert and Millicent (Mraz) Himes, was born on October 30, 1953 in Salem, OH.
Jeff was a graduate of Columbiana High School, class of 1971. He was a home beer brewer and enjoyed spending his time brewing beer and sharing it with friends. He also enjoyed gardening and welding for many of his friends. Jeffrey was employed as a cryogenic technician for thirty five years at Praxair the Great Lakes Service Center in Struthers, OH
Jeff is survived by wife Rebecca A Mentzer whom he married July 8, 1972. He also leaves daughter Amy (Josh) Milliken, St. Clairsville, son Jason Himes, Akron, sister Mrs. Mariellen (Phil) Steiner, Columbiana, brother Tom (Debbie) Himes, Columbiana, step mother Winnifred Himes, Poland, and also his pet cat Augie.
Services will be held Monday, June 25, 2012 at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, North Lima, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Alan Hutchison officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday June 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Petersburg Presbyterian Church, or to Angels for Animals, Canfield,OH.
