NEW SPRINGFIELD- Private services were held for Judith Ann Handwork, 75, who passed away April 28, 2019 in Youngstown. Ms. Handwork was born May 27, 1943 in Youngstown a daughter of Lewis and Laura (Howe) Handwork.
Judy was a 1962 Boardman High School graduate, and a 1965 graduate of Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing, where she earned her RN degree. For 25 years, she worked as a psychiatric registered nurse at Woodside Receiving Hospital, and rose through the ranks to become a head nurse and nursing supervisor. She cared deeply about her patients, hoping to improve the lives of those sometimes forgotten by society.
Judy enjoyed horses, country living, and visiting with her family. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Joel) Weber and her grandson Levi of Brownsville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laura Weber. The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
