My memory tells me that my contacts with Melvin began with a smile quickly followed by a story suitable for the occasion (sometimes several stories). I don't believe that Melvin was easily ruffled - something that i could not say for myself. My guess is that calmnness may have been tested once or twice during the rearing of three girls!! While I had a number of contacts with Melvin in recent years (here in Florida ) I'm sorry to say that the last two times I stopped to visit I missed him and only left notes. So this is my goodbye - we all know you're rejoicing in your new home.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. So many memories from a life lived so fully! Our dad was always entertained when his good friend Melvin stopped by or called, and he always looked forward to those contacts. I would imagine there is a lot of storytelling and laughing in heaven today. We uphold you all in prayer at this time of your loss.

Thinking of you all at this time, thoughts and prayers as you take this next chapter in life with Melvin in his heavenly home. He always had a big smile and hello when we would see him here in Florida. I remember him a bit from Ohio when with his brother LaVerne and wife Eileen as our families were close. Blessings to you as you gather to remember Mel and celebrate his life.

My sympathy to your family at this difficult time. Melvin was always such a good friend to Karl when they would visit at McDonald's in Columbiana.
