Rita Ann (McDonough) Bloom

Rita Ann Bloom, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Beaver Township on Wednesday, July 19, 2017.

She was born June 7, 1946 to Norman and Rita (Conroy) McDonough and was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area. She was a 1964 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and was married to her late husband Robert Wright before marrying Walter Bloom, her husband of 32 years.

Ann took joy in raising her children and spent her life taking care of other people. She provided childcare to multiple families over the years, worked at Ron Joy nursing home and enjoyed volunteering at church functions. She was an avid collector of ink pens, wrist watches and all things Pillsbury Doughboy. Ann was also known for being a great friend. She wouldn't hesitate to provide a ride, buy lunch or just be a good listener to someone in need. She stayed active by walking with a group of friends several times a week.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Bloom; son, Robert "Bob" (Hallie Liposhack) Wright; daughter, Michele (Daniel) Sawonik; step daughter, Connie (Michael Syputa) Bloom, granddaughters, Holly Famularo & Kaiya Syputa; siblings, Martin "Marty" (Debbie) McDonough, William "Bill" McDonough & Margaret "Peggy" (Bill) Rusk; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother Joseph McDonough, late husband Robert Wright, and step daughter Carolyn Scanlon (Bloom).

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 24 at 11:00am at Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Rd, in North Lima. Burial will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Canfield.

 The family will greet friends from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Sunday, July 23 at Seederly-Mong & Beck funeral home in North Lima and again at church on Monday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
