Virginia A. (Krichbaum) Dietrich

On Friday, May 12, Virginia (“Ginny”) A. Dietrich of Canfield left the loving arms of her earthly family to enter into the welcoming arms of her heavenly family.

Born on April 14, 1924 in Youngstown, Ginny was a daughter of Paul and Esther (Kreuzwieser) Krichbaum. A life-long area resident, she attended South High School, graduated Boardman High School in1942, and was a secretary at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Steel Mill Company for two years.

Ginny was truly God’s servant. An active member of Paradise Church, she taught Sunday School for 50 years, belonged to the Bible Study group, was a past member of the choir and often took time to visit parishioners confined to rest homes. At age 90, she became a church greeter, welcoming everyone to services with a hug and her warm smile. She was considered by many to be the heart of the church.

Ginny enjoyed gardening and canning the vegetables she grew herself. She was also a 4-H advisor for several years. 

Ginny leaves her son, William (“Bill”) of Canfield, her daughter Janet Covey and her husband John of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren: Erica Tomzak, Mary Dietrich and Shea Nizolek; great grandson Jared Nizolek; and sister Esther Dombrowski.

Preceding Ginny in death were her parents, her husband Arthur to whom she was married for 58 years, her sister Ruth Gilliland, and her brother William Krichbaum.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima and at 10:00 a.m one hour before funeral services, which will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at 11:00 a.m. at Paradise Church, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Canfield, OH 44406 with Pastor David Perry officiating.
