AUSTINTOWN – A memorial service will be held for Virginia Perkins Wellendorf, 98, who passed away March 31, 2017 at Austinwoods Nursing Center surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 15, 1918 in Youngstown, to Pendleton and Jenna (Shinglerdecker) Perkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fay Wellendorf, her son Don, her great-granddaughter Elizabeth Matthes, and her sisters Caroline Mitchell, Helen Powell, Georgia Smith, Thelma Leeworthy and Betty Mulholand.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Barbara (Mac) McPeak of Lakeland, FL and sons Ken (Marti) of Mansfield, OH, Larry (Toni) of Salem, Ted of Canfield daughter-in-law Jane of Boardman, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as a large extended family.
Virginia spent her life raising her family. She also worked at Packard Electric in Warren, OH, ten years at Brown’s Drug Store in Canfield and 28 years at Yeager’s Market in Canfield.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima, OH with Rev. Gary Rozier officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Virginia’s memory to The Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
