COLUMBIANA – Richard L. Brintzenhofe, Sr., 84, of Columbiana, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.
Richard was born on June 9, 1939, in Bedford, OH, a son of Homer and Ardis (Maurice)Brintzenhofe. A North Lima high school graduate, he was a proud member of the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1960. He married the former Dee Stuhldreher on July 20, 1963. Richard was a member of Mount Olivet United Church of Christ. He worked in sales at Grainger and All-Weather Supply. He was instrumental in Brother Allen’s Inn at Shaker Woods in Columbiana, which he attended every year.
Richard was involved in many organizations. He belonged to Allen Lodge #276 F&AM, where he was a 32nd degree Mason and a Past Master. He also belonged to the Youngstown Shrine Club and the Royal Order of Jesters – Cleveland Court.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dee; son Richard Jr. (Pamela) Brintzenhofe of North Lima; daughter Renee (Roger) Van Horn of St. Louis, MO; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five step-siblings.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and baby daughter Rochelle.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Rd, North Lima with Pastor Timothy Paroz officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.
Family and friends may call on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima and again at Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on February 3rd. A Masonic Service will follow the calling hours on Friday.
