Anna May (Heder) Duffy

Anna May Heder Duffy, 88, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, February 5 with her loving family around her.

Mrs. Duffy was born on March 15, 1930 in Hoople, ND, a daughter of Hjalmer and Emma (Grand) Heder. Anna May attended business college after high school graduation to become a book keeper. She married William (Bill) Duffy on August 5, 1956 at Grace Evangelical and Reformed Church, and together they would raise three children.  She worked at Penn Motors in Salem prior to having children, and then worked for Adin Kauffman in Columbiana until her retirement at age 70.

Mrs. Duffy enjoyed bowling, sewing, quilting, puzzles and spending time with her family. She was a member of the American Legion Post 290 of Columbiana where she often helped with the Street Fair.

She leaves to cherish her children Lois ( Steve) Jones and Jon (Cindy) Duffy both of Columbiana; three grandchildren Matthew Jones of Mauldin, SC, Joshua Jones and Lauren Duffy of Columbiana; great granddaughter Macy Ann; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews throughout the United States.

Mrs. Duffy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill in 1988, a son Todd in 1992, as well as her ten siblings Vearnice, Leonard, Arvil, Willard, Norris, Harry, Sylvia, Audrey, Kenneth and her twin sister Mary Ann.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home Columbiana Chapel, 154 S. Elm St, Columbiana.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00-12:00 at the funeral home.

The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Anna May’s memory to the Grace Church of Columbiana, 140 S. Main St., Columbiana, OH, 44408.
