Bruce W. Bott of New Waterford, Ohio passed away on November 26, 2017 after a courageous decade-long battle with cancer and other resulting medical challenges.

Bruce was born on April 7, 1939 in New Waterford, Ohio and was the eighth of ten children of Mollie (Justison) and William Bott.  He graduated from New Waterford High School in 1957 and served his county proudly in the Army during the Cuban missile crisis. After returning home to his beloved family farming community, Bruce worked for General Motors for more than 30 years until his retirement.

Bruce was an avid collector of antiques and loved the challenge of "the hunt" for the next unique find.  He was well-known to local auctioneers and antique store owners and could often be found "picking" at estate sales or at the Rogers sale.  Bruce was also fond of bragging about his children and doting on his little granddaughter Lucy.  Earlier this year, they took a family trip to Vero Beach, Florida so that Lucy could take her "papa" to the beach to look for sea glass.

Bruce is survived by his children, Brian J. Bott of New Waterford and April Bott Moore of Dublin, Ohio as well as his only grandchild Luciana Caroline Moore of Dublin, Ohio.  His wife Carol (Jenkins) Bott, who was a professor of English Literature at the University of Miami, Florida, preceded him in death.

In addition to his children and grandchild, Bruce is survived by his brothers Karl (Judy) Bott and Herb (Joyce) Bott and his sisters Helen (Don) Gormley and Joyce (Roy) Garman.  He is also survived by a large number of Bott family nieces and nephews whom he enjoyed very much.

In addition to his wife Carol, he is preceded in death by his parents as well as his brothers Robert Bott and Eldon Bott and his sisters Pauline Ellebracht, Ruth Bott and Mary Dickey.

Bruce's life will be celebrated from 1-4pm on Saturday, December 2nd at Pavilion #4 at Firestone Park.  His family welcomes his friends. He will be privately placed to rest with Carol at Firestone Cemetery in Columbiana, Ohio. His life can be honored with donations to Humane Society of Columbiana County, P.O.
