Helen E. (Raley) Carroll

SALEM – Helen E. Carroll, 101, passed away Saturday morning, November 11, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center with her daughter by her side.

Helen was born on November 8, 1916, in Rogers, OH, a daughter of Alfred and Susan (Dickey) Raley. A New Waterford High School graduate, she married Alvin Carroll on October 15, 1943 and together they would raise two children.  She enjoyed being in her flower and vegetable gardens, as well as quilting and sewing.  Helen could often be found reading, doing a crossword puzzle or playing Scrabble with her friends.  But most of all, she was a great mom and wife who will be missed by all who knew her..    

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Alvin, with whom she just celebrated her 74th wedding anniversary; her daughter Donna Carroll of Columbiana; her son Timothy (Barb) Carroll of Leetonia; two grandchildren Tamantha Vadino-Jacobs of Leetonia and Alvin P. (Cara) Carroll of Austintown; and five great-grandchildren Blaine, Helena, and Miranda Vadino and Sawyer and Juliana Carroll. 

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson Garrett Vadino, and a grandson-in-law, Todd Vadino.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at noon at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana with Pastor Bob Noble officiating.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m., an hour before the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to Locust Grove Baptist Church, 12015 Washingtonville Road, Salem, OH 44460.

The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
