Jason Patrick "JP" Barnes

DIAMOND – Jason Patrick “JP” Barnes, 39, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his home in Diamond, OH.

JP was born on March 6, 1978 in Salem, a son of Lynne Esenwein Wilson and Terry Barnes. A 1996 graduate of Columbiana High School, he graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 2004 with an associate degree in aviation maintenance technology.  JP was the lead mechanic at NetJets in Columbus and had worked part-time at McMaster Farms in Columbiana since high school.

JP enjoyed fishing, making his own maple syrup, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.  His most treasured moments were those spent hanging out with his sons, Logan and Tanner.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish JP’s memory are his sons Logan of Diamond and Tanner of Maumee, OH; his mother Lynne Wilson and her husband John of Diamond; his father Terry Barnes and his wife Mary of Girard; three brothers Jeremy (Jessica) Barnes of Cold Springs, KY, Joshua (Kathryn) Barnes of Minot, ND, and  Joseph Barnes of Girard; two step siblings Eric(Melissa) Wilson and Shelby(Robbie Serra) Wilson, all from Struthers; maternal grandparents Wilma Esenwein of Columbiana and Charles Esenwein of Leetonia; paternal grandmother Alice Barnes; step grandparents Joseph and Mickey Pruneski and Judith Wilson; several aunts and uncles; many nieces and nephews; and his chocolate Labrador Demi.  

JP was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Roy Barnes and step grandfather John Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., two hours before the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to the family to go towards JP’s sons’ education.
