COLUMBIANA- Lloyd Vanpelt, 79, of Columbiana, passed away early Monday morning, December 11, at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Palestine.
Lloyd was born on June 30, 1938 in Salem, a son of John Robert and Barbara Ellen (Shaum) Vanpelt.
A lifelong member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church, Lloyd married Luella Falb on June 27, 1964 at the church. She preceded him in death on February 4, 2014.
Lloyd was a dairy farmer and worked at the Damascus Livestock auction for over 60 years. He also did part-time construction work, doing carpentry and concrete work. He enjoyed riding on his John Deere 620 and spending time with his grandchildren.
Lloyd leaves to cherish his precious memories three daughters, Laura Mae Vanpelt of Berlin, Lucille (Robin) Martin of Snover, Mich., and Louise (John) Steiner of Columbiana; three sons, Lloyd Jr. (Reba) of Columbiana, Leonard (Della) of North Lima, and Leon (Gayle) of Columbiana; two brothers, his twin Floyd (Esther) and Wayne (Rebecca), both of Columbiana; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson and a sister Ruth Witmer.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, 154 S. Elm St. and one hour prior to the services from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 4000 Renkenberger Rd., Columbiana, where the church ministry will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
