Richard Earl Bregar, 85, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, April 20 at Hospice House with his loving family around him.
Mr. Bregar was born on March 2, 1934 in Youngstown, a son of John and Grace (Wilhelm) Bregar. He graduated from North Lima High School in 1951. Richard served in the Navy Reserve. He married the former Thelma Reesh on March 23, 1985. Richard retired from General Motors in 1995.
Richard loved to travel, was a snowbird and moved to Florida full time in 2015. He attended Greenford Christian Church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife Thelma of North Lima, with whom he just celebrated 34 years of marriage this year; two sons David (Connie) Bregar of McDonald and Kerry Bregar of New Middletown; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bregar was preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Angela Grace Bregar, his siblings Gene Bregar, Peg Burkey, and two adopted siblings Carl Bregar and Carol Dubec.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24 at 11:30 a.m. at Seederly Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24 from 10:00 – 11:30 at Seederly- Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
