Richard Kyle

BOARDMAN – Richard Kyle, 74, of New Waterford, passed from this life into the presence of Christ, November 5th, after two months of declining health issues at Saint Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman. He confidently entered his final rest knowing he would be reunited with his son, Ryan Kyle, who passed in May, 2015.

Richard was born on April 26, 1943, in Youngstown, a son of John W. and Jewel (Shaffer) Kyle III. He worked at US Steel as a steelworker, and later worked in construction. He and his wife had owned and operated The Pizza Bowl in Columbiana where decades after its closing, many customers have remained as friends. Richard retired from Rogers Group Home after 16 years where he worked as a Youth Rehabilitation Specialist. After retirement, he did flea marketing where he enjoyed the people even more than buying and selling things. Richard enthusiastically supported his sons, nephews, and grandchildren at many sporting, school, and church events.

Richard will be greatly missed by his wife, the former Bonnie Thomas, with whom he just celebrated his 51st wedding anniversary on Saturday; a son, Richard (Kathy) Kyle II of Columbiana; grandchildren Kane, Avery, and Colton Kyle; brothers John (Dawna) Kyle IV and George Dulay; sisters Mary (Earl) Smith and Barb Dulay; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death at a young age by both his father and his stepfather George Dulay, later by his mother, his son Ryan "Beef" Kyle, and beloved sister-in-law Sherri (Henry) Halas.

An open memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 11 at East Palestine Church of the Nazarene, 38 Rebecca Street, East Palestine, OH and officiated by Pastor Pam Price followed by a church-sponsored meal for the family.
