Robert L. Burbick, 86 passed away peacefully Monday, March 11, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Burbick was born on January 29, 1933 in Columbiana, a son of Leon and Kathleen (Oesch) Burbick. He was the oldest of seventeen children. He married the former Kay Olnhausen on August 8, 1958.
Robert started his career at Al Wagner Motors in Youngstown. He attended numerous seminars including a week in Rock Island, IL at Bear Wheel Alignment School. Bob was one of the first in this area to qualify and earn the ASE Certification. In addition to working at several local dealerships, he and his wife owned and operated Burbick’s Carriage Works on State Route 14 in Columbiana for many years.
Mr. Burbick was a member of the Columbiana United Methodist Church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife Kay of Columbiana, his son Robert Ramsey Burbick, sisters Norma Burbick, Margery (Lamar) Shoemaker, Helen Jean (Arden) Sauerwein, Mary Kay (Larry) McFall, Carol Ann (John) Dowdle, and Maureen Nesselrotte, brothers, Harry Burbick, Dale Burbick, Ronald (Sandy) Burbick, Phillip (Nora) Burbick, and Willie Burbick along with many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Howard, Charles, Harold, Elmer and Donnie.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Columbiana, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, Ohio 44408 with Pastor Carolyn Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, Ohio and on Saturday one hour prior to the service from 10-11am at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that material contributions be made to Community Hospice 2341 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460 or to the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana in Bob’s name.
