William R. Fisher Jr.

POLAND - William R. Fisher Jr., 77, of Poland, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on January 2, 2018 with his wife and brother beside him.

He was born October 22, 1940 to William R. Fisher Sr. and Florella (Ockerman) Fisher-Stockman in Youngstown.  A 1958 Boardman High School graduate, William served an apprenticeship with the Operating Engineers School.  He worked as an independent operating engineer and also owned and operated Fisher Trucking.  Bill was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66 and also the Mahoning Valley Mustangs Club.  He loved cars shows, cruising, motorcycles, snowmobiles-anything with a motor!  He also enjoyed the outdoors and camping.  He married the former Sharon Kutris on January 5, 1979. Bill was a faithful member of Mount Olivet United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; his daughter Amanda Butcher and her husband David of Daleville, AL; a brother Don Fisher and his wife Benita of Struthers; many nieces and nephews; and his black Labrador Daytona.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor Michael Smith will be held on Saturday, January 5, at noon at Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 W. South Range Rd, North Lima.

The family will greet friends from at church on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service.
