Allan G. Chamberlin, 92, of 652 Meadow Place Columbiana, passed away at 7:32 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home. Mr. Chamberlin, the son of Orley and Bertha (Cope) Chamberlin, was born on July 25, 1919 in New Waterford, OH. Allan was a graduate of New Waterford H.S. 1937, he enjoyed barbershop singing and was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and served on many committees for many years. Allan had managed Landmark Feed Mill in Lisbon, and was also the organizational director for the Mahoning County Farm Bureau. Allan also owned and operated a Poultry Farm. Allan retired in 1984, after serving as Columbiana County Commissioner being elected to two four year terms. His public service also includes eleven years as Fairfield Township Trustee, eight years on the Columbiana County School Board, and served as a Fairfield PTA president. He is also a past president of the Columbiana County Farm Bureau Board. He was a member and president of the Columbiana County Historical Society, member of the Allen Lodge 276 F.&A.M. of Columbiana, the Fairfield Ruritan Club, and probably served as president or chairman on every committee or organization he's belonged to which are too numerous to mention. Allen also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and deep sea fishing off the Gulf of Mexico. Allan spent 27 winters at Zephyrhills, FL at Settlers Rest Park. Most importantly, Allan loved his God and family. Allan is survived by his wife Carol Williamson Chamberlin, whom he married December 4, 2004. Also survived are sons Raymond (Carren) New Waterford, Kermit (Sue) Leetonia, Ronald (Sally) Leetonia, and Keith (Janice) Columbiana, sister Janet Bacon, of Lakeland FL, and leaves behind ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Allan was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth Buhecker Chamberlin May 15, 2003. Services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Namy officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, Columbiana, Tuesday May 15, and one hour prior to service Wednesday May 16, 2012 at the church. A Masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday by the Allen Lodge 276 F. & A.M. of Columbiana. Family suggests contributions be made to the East Fairfield United Methodist Church.
