COLUMBIANA - Alwyn Atkinson of 14600 Market St. in Columbiana, died November 25, 2016. Mrs. Atkinson was born November 4, 1914 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Helsel, and moved to Columbiana in 1944. She was married to George Harold Atkinson on March 15, 1941, who died December 26, 1998. She leaves two sons, Harold R. of Conway AR and John G. of Denver CO, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother Russell H. Helsel of Summit NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Betsy Gorcheff, and sisters Eleanor Helsel and Betty Ferris. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana and St John's Episcopal Church of Youngstown. Calling hours will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6:00PM- 8:00PM at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. Funeral service will be held on December 2, 2016 at 11:00AM at Belmont Park Cemetery Chapel, 3346 Belmont Ave, Youngstown with interment to follow.
