SALISBURY-Rev. Arlen Elwood Longanecker, 73, of Salisbury, PA, died December 30, 2012 at home. Born April 9, 1939 in Millersburg, OH, he was the son of the late Elwood J. and Lillian (Allison) Longanecker. He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Louise (Green) Longanecker. He is survived by his children: Krista Falvey and her husband, Patrick, Cary, N.C; Kara Hugunin and her husband Charles, Independence, KY; and Kevin Longanecker and his wife Janet, Kent, OH; 7 grandchildren; brother: David Longanecker, North Manchester, Indiana; twin sister: Arlene Sloan, North Lima, OH; sisters: Bonita Rogers, Columbiana, OH; and Marilee Bodendorfer, Salem, OH. He was a 1957 graduate of Springfield Local High School, Ohio. Rev. Longanecker was currently the pastor at the Hostetler Church of the Brethren, Meyersdale. He was the former pastor of the following churches: Bristolville, Freeburg and Baltic Church of the Brethren, in Ohio, Conemaugh and Ridge Church of the Brethren, in PA and Astoria Church of the Brethren , in IL. He believed that a relationship with Christ was the most important relationship to have and he truly enjoyed serving Christ and the people. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Friends will also be received from 9 a.m. until service is conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, Columbiana, OH. Pastor Paul Bartholomew officiating.
