Obituary

Barbara J. Feren, 87, of Canfield, OH, passed away at 12:00 pm Thursday, September 8, 2011 in her home. Mrs. Feren, the daughter of Frank and Della (McElroy) Echard, was born on September 21, 1923 in Columbiana, Ohio. Barbara was a graduate of South High School, and was a member of Greenford Christian Church. She was a homemaker and also worked for Greyhound bus lines as a telephone information specialist in Youngstown from where she retired in 1965. She was active in the Big Reach Center of Hope and also the Golden Heirs of Old North Church in Canfield. Barbara was very devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Feren was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Swartzfager and her second husband Edward V. Feren, who passed away on April 7, 2002. She married Edward on July 20, 1962. She is survived by three sons, Edward Feren, Jacksonville FL, Donald (Denise) Feren, Canfield, and Leonard A. (Rhonda) Swartzfager, Gainesville FL, three daughters, Carole (John) Davis, Canfield, Lynda Kale, Charlotte, N.C., and Miss Debra K. Feren, Orlando, FL, twelve grand children, Don (Lynda) Feren, Brad (Krystal) Feren, John (Clara) Soldo, Todd (Michele) Feren, Josh Kale, Wendy (Phil) Morgan, Missi (Jason) Becker, Beth (Bob) Perkins, Sarah Davis, Jenelle Swartzfager, Bert Hayden and Jack Madden, and eleven great-grandchildren, Jacob and Noah Bainbridge, Trae and Trevor Perkins, Drew, Jamie, Tara, and Laurel Feren, Kailyn and Kylee Lambert, and Gavin Rothwell. Also preceding her in death are a son Ricky Feren and a sister Dorothy Williams. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday September 12, 2011 at Greenford Christian Church, Greenford, OH, Service time is 11 a.m. Monday September 12, 2011, with Sean Kelly, John Bush, and Brent Allen officiating, followed by a procession to the Canfield Village cemetery for burial. Material contributions may be made to the Big Reach Center of Hope, Greenford, OH.
