Columbiana - Betty Josephine Bogdan, 81 of Columbiana passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at Salem Regional Medical Center with her two sons by her side. She was born February 18th 1934 in Salem, the daughter of the late Henry and Edith (Hull) Straub. She was the office manager of the family business, Nick's Tin Shop, most of her life until 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her husband Nicholas Sr., two sons Nicholas Jr. (Diana) of Columbiana, Michael (Karen) of Maumee, Ohio and three grandchildren, Jacob Bogdan, Jamie Bogdan, and Benjamin Greenawalt. She was a very selfless person and family always came first, especially the grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed. She also loved doing her crossword puzzles. As to her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, February 1st at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel with Pastor John Ciardi officiating. The family would like thank the hospital staff, and Community Hospice for their help and support, along with the gift blanket from Windsor House.
