Obituary

COLUMBIANA – Betty L. Segesman, 88, passed away Wednesday May 10, 2017 at Parkside Health Center with her daughters by her side.

Mrs. Segesman was born on June 16, 1928 in Shreve, OH, a daughter of Gordon and Helen (Morris) Gano.  A life-long area resident, she graduated from Columbiana High School in 1946. An active member of First Christian Church, Betty was in the choir, taught Bible school, and belonged to the Priscilla Circle and the U and I class.  Betty was the secretary of Columbiana's mayor, and later worked for Columbiana Feed Mill and Witmers Feed Mill as the bookkeeper for many years.  The most important things in her life were her family, her church, and her community.  She liked to play cards and loved to cook, and enjoyed travelling with her husband Robert.

Betty leaves to cherish her precious memory her three daughters, Marsha Gordon and her husband Robert of Columbiana, Vickie Wagner and her husband Jim of Salem, and Robin Woods and her husband Jon of Columbiana; five grandchildren Brett (Madeline) Barnhouse, Gretchen Barnhouse, Melanie Scott, and Kurtis and Katie Woods; two great-grandchildren Nicholas and Emily Scott; a brother James (Glenda) Gano and sister-in-law Betty Gano, all of Guilford Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Robert, whom she married March 28, 1948, her sister Carolyn Finnie and her brother Richard Gano.
