NORTH LIMA - Carmel Marie Pitts, 78, of North Lima, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at her home. Carmel was born on May 19, 1935 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the daughter of Raymond and Delphine (Zanella) Gentile. She came to Youngstown in 1945 from Brownsville, PA, and lived in Boardman for 24 years before moving to Beaver Township in 1993. She graduated from Ursuline High School in 1953 and was of the Catholic faith. She worked at Murphy's, which later became Ames department store for 21 years as the defectives manager. Carmel is survived by two daughters, Karen (Larry) Lawrence of North Lima and Kathy Simpson of Las Vegas, NV; one grandson, Cody Simpson, and one great-grandson Chase Simpson both of Thomasville, GA; a brother, Raymond Gentile of Olathe, KS; a nephew and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son William; and an infant granddaughter Carey. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, 11500 Market Street. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013.
