Obituary

COLUMBIANA- Carol L. Hill, 83, passed away Monday evening at Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley, surrounded by her family. Carol was born on February 26, 1932 in New Waterford, the daughter of Leo A. and Mabel (Spencer) Smith. A 1951 graduate of New Waterford High School, Carol was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Columbiana and Christ Church of Boardman. She enjoyed participating in both church environments. At First Christian Church, she was a member of the Priscilla Circle and Super Saints. She hosted revival and youth ministers in her home, and created the arts and crafts portion of Vacation Bible School. She also was a member of the Columbiana Historical Society. Carol leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughters Robin Thaxton and her husband Gary of Jefferson and Ginger Mrofchak and her husband Matt of Columbiana; her son Robert Hill Jr. and his wife Lynne of Indian Shores, FL; her grandchildren Sean (Megan) Ferrall, Rick (fiancAC.e Tiffany Nitowski) Thaxton, Tyler Thaxton, and Cory Mrofchak; his great grandchildren Sean II and Evelyn Ferrall; her brothers Carl (Joann), Louis (Mary Louise), Wayne (Janet), and Willis (Sandra); and her sister Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Hill, Sr., whom she married on July 5, 1952 and who passed away August 3, 2011, brothers Paul, Lloyd, and Ed, and sisters Lois and Alma. Services will be held for family and friends at 11 a.m. Thursday April 23 at First Christian Church, 39 Cherry Street, Columbiana with Pastor John Reed officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until services begin. Interment will follow at Columbiana Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Carol's name to HASTEN International, Inc. (Health and Salvation to Every Nation), PO Box 30279, Winston Salem, NC 27130. The Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
