Caryl B. Johnson, 85, of East Palestine, passed away Friday, June 29 at Covington Skilled Nursing Facility in East Palestine. Caryl was born on May 13, 1927 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of Henry and Pearl (Pond) Berggren. She was a sales clerk at Macy's for 30 years, and retired in 1962. Caryl was of the Lutheran faith. Caryl leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughters, Cindy Wessel of East Palestine and Jayne Johnson of Ocala, Fla.; two grandchildren, Becky and Denise; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Johnson, whom she married September 17, 1946, and one sister. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima where services will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Renae Meggitt officiating.
