Catherine L Cope, 63 Columbiana- Catherine L. Cope, 63, passed away Monday evening at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Catherine was born October 13, 1948 in Salem, the daughter of Ernest and Virginia (Hilditch) Ferris, and was a lifelong area resident. A 1966 graduate of East Palestine High School, Catherine went on to receive an associate's degree from Kent State University. She had previously worked as a respiratory therapist at Salem Community Hospital for 15 years and North Side Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Columbiana. Catherine leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Jason (Stacie) of Gates Mills, Matthew (Melissa) of Boardman, and Tony of Columbiana; her sisters, Mary Ann (Dave) Huff of East Palestine, Virginia (Ed) Kennedy of Columbiana, and Don (Beth) Millikin of Chippewa, Pa.; her brother, Joe (Judy) Ferris of East Palestine; and four grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held at Michael Alberini's in Boardman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011.
