Catherine Z. McGinnis, 91, left this world on April 3, 2009 to join her beloved husband (Samuel) along with many of her brothers and sisters in heaven after battling Alzheimer's; with aspirations. Catherine was born on July 4, 1917 in the Monaca Pennsylvania area to George and Anna Winkle. Catherine had nine brothers and sisters. Catherine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of 15. Catherine was a loyal member of the Youngstown Chapter of the Sweet Adeline's for 35 years. Catherine lived very modestly and quietly but was always there to help those whom she loved. Catherine spent much of her life in the Mahoning County area with wonderful friends, and family. Her son Samuel and his wife Billie still reside in North Lima, Ohio. She spent her final years in Minerva with her daughter Dolly and son-in-law Sam by her side. Her final months were also shared with the wonderful staff of Great Trail Nursing Home and Hospice of Carroll and Tuscarawas County. It was her wish to have her final services at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio and then be laid to rest with her husband Samuel in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown, Ohio. The family would also like to thank Pastor Ralph and his entire congregation of the Good Hope Lutheran Church of North Lima who is opening their church to us. All of her surviving family and friends are taking comfort that neither her life nor her death was in vain. We would rather to take ease with a verse from the bible, St. Luke 7:22, Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised. Grandma you are in heaven now, go with Grandpa without any pain and dance, and laugh with pleasure. We will think of you daily and sing your praises often. We were very lucky to have you for 91 years; your wisdoms will live forever handed down to generations. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Pastor Ralph Edwards officiating. Friends may call Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. Burial will be in Lake Park Cemetery.
