Shofstahl, 65, S.R. 170 Petersburg, Ohio, passed away at 6:36 am on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at his residence, from acute leukemia following a two year illness. Mr. Shofstahl was born on June 15, 1941 in Jefferson County, Pa., the son of Raymond C. Shofstahl and Mabel I. Webster Shofstahl Chamberlin. Charles served nine years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Charles was a pastor for 10 years during the 1970's in the local area. He then became a writer, editor and publisher of christian books. He was a devout follower of Christ, holding to old historic Baptist doctrinal positions. He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, the former Darlene L. Smith Shofstahl, whom he married September 17, 1965; four daughters Miss Deborah Shofstahl of Columbiana, Rachel Jack and her husband Thomas of New Waterford, Ohio, Miss Abigail Shofstahl at home and Miriam Brown and her husband Charles of Prairie View, Illinois; three sons Daniel and Jonathan at home and David and his wife Leah of Clifton Forge, Virginia; one step-sister Janet Bacon of Lakeland, Florida; one brother David R. Shofstahl of Cedartown, Georgia and one step-brother Allan Chamberlin of Leetonia and nine grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, August 13, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Pastor Stan Murrell officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 pm Saturday August 12, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour prior to the service 1:30 - 2:30 Sunday, August 13, 2006 at the Funeral Home.
