Obituary

Cheryl A. Clay, 51, of Columbiana, died at home Tuesday, November 16, 2010, with her husband at her side. Cheryl fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. She has been an inspiration to everyone for over 20 years. Cheryl was born September 20, 1959 in Salem, the daughter of the late George Foy and Jean Kyser. She was a 1977 graduate of Crestview High School. Mrs. Clay had worked at Walmart Department Store as a shoe sales manager. Cheryl was a talented, creative person. She was an accomplished artist, crafter, writer, cook and photographer. She excelled at making Christmas ornaments and had one displayed on Good Morning America. Cheryl was a loyal volunteer with Relay for Life, and had been the team captain of the "Undercover Angels" for several years. Cheryl had worked at the Boardman Wal-Mart for many years until becoming disabled in May. Many knew her from her hot dog sales to benefit Relay for Life. Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories her husband William "Bill" Clay, whom she married February 2, 1981, her mother Jean Kyser of Columbiana, two brothers Ronald Foy of Columbiana, Brian (Carol) Foy of East Palestine, two nieces Emma Rae Foy and Ella Grace Foy and her dog and best friend "Simon". She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and her father-in-law Edward Clay. The family would like to extend thanks to MVI Hospice, The Hope Cancer Center, and Parkside Health Care Center for the loving and supportive care received. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. The Family will receive friends from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. In lieu of material tributes, the family requests donations be made to Cheryl's husband, to help defray the extensive medical bills.
