Clarence J. Rummel, 79, of 122 W. Friend Street, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 31, 2010 at his home from complications of cancer. He was born October 14, 1930 in Columbiana, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Zelda (Sheely) Rummel. Mr. Rummel attended Columbiana High School and was employed by the NRM Company of Columbiana for 41 years, retiring in 1991. Clarence and Ruth (Culp), his wife of more than 60 years, shared wonderful times with their two sons, Trevor (Tabby) Rummel of Leetonia, Ohio and Scott (Vicki) Rummel of Cortland, Ohio, as well as grandchildren, Maggie, Tanner (Elisa), Shannon and Lauren. Many will recall Clarence enjoying driving his 1963 Classic Pontiac Bonneville in Columbiana's Annual Street Fair Parade. He also enjoyed camping and boating with family and friends. While an only child, Clarence dearly loved his wife's many brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima with Rev. Ralph Edwards officiating. The family requests that material tributes be made in Clarence's name to Hospice of the Valley.
