Cynthia D.
Burkey
Nov 19, 1956 — Jun 20, 2014
"Death leaves a heartache to heal; love leaves sweet memories no one can steal." With her family by her side, Cynthia Darlene Ritchey Burkey was carried to heaven by angels June 20th, 2014 after a long, courageous fight with cancer her body surrendered and was finally at peace. Cindy was born November 19th, 1956, the daughter of Ethelene and Darhl "Jack" Ritchey. She was the youngest of 6 children; Sandra Burns (wife to Bill Burns), Jack Ritchey (deceased), Kathy Hirt (deceased), Claudia Rogan and Bobby Ritchey (husband to Lori Ritchey). She graduated from Columbiana High School in 1974. Cindy gave birth to 2 children, Andrea Anderson - Loveland (engaged to Nate King) and Christopher Anderson (married to Tiffany Anderson). She married Wayne Burkey, her adoring husband and love of her life, on April 2nd, 1982. Cindy has 6 grandchildren that she loved beyond words, Nicholas Loveland, Tiffany and Troy King (children of Andrea Loveland and Nate King) and Olivia, Emma and Beyla Anderson (daughters of Chris and Tiffany Anderson). She was a loving and caring Aunt with many nieces and nephews. Cindy was a friend to so many in her lifetime, and those that knew her knew she was a strong, caring, selfless woman. She always put everyone before herself, always the first to offer help even if she was the one needing help. She was a lover of life and all of God's creatures, especially the feathered kind. She loved her birds, Jake, Sam, Noto, Bandit, Blue, Ciscero, Savanna and Morgan. She also loved her puppy Sadie Hope who brightened even her weakest days. Per her request there will be no services and the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, OH 44514 who made her final hours so full of peace. The caring staff will always have a special place in the hearts of the family. The family wishes to send their deepest appreciation to the Hope Center, Dr. Knight and all of the caring staff who gave her so much loving care. Also they would like to thank the special nurses at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown. (Robin, Nikki "Chips", Erika and Molly) Please remember our Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Sister in Law and Friend by doing a selfless act for someone, pay it forward in honor of Cindy's memory, for she was forever a giving and selfless soul. Until We Meet Again those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only I could have you back for just a little while then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do you always meant so very much and always will do too the fact that you are no longer here will always cause me pain but you are forever in my heart until we meet again The Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana is entrusted with the arrangements. Family and friends are invited to visit www.seederly-mongandbeck.com to sign the guestbook or send private condolences.
