NEW WATERFORD – Daniel J. Lindsay, 71, of New Waterford passed away Wednesday evening, December 28 at his home surrounded by his family.

Dan was born on October 24, 1945, in Youngstown, a son of Charles and Helen (Kowalchik) Lindsay. A Crestview High School graduate, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He married the former Loretta Lanzendorfer on December 11, 1965, and they recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. He was employed by Bliss in Salem as a machinist, Gladwin in Unity as a supervisor, and retired from Brilex in Youngstown as a machinist.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife Loretta of New Waterford; his mother Helen; his son Troy (Debbie) Lindsay of Columbiana and daughter Tracey (Joel) Hively of New Waterford; five grandchildren Trent, Tyller, Sarah, Isaac, and Owen; sisters Kathleen Lindsay, Amy Weingart and Sally Guy; and brothers Tim and Scott Lindsay.

Dan was preceded in death by his father, Charles.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. where military honors will be accorded by American Legion post 290.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Dan's memory to the American Cancer Society, 525 N Broad St, Canfield, Ohio 44406-9274 or DAV – Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
