Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Ziegler at 10 A.M. Saturday at Saint Jude Church in Columbiana for Darla Formichella Schumacher, 55 of 11156 Detwiler Rd in Columbiana who suddenly taken Monday evening. She was born in Sharon, PA on October 20, 1955. Darla was the daughter of Mario and Millie Formichella of Sharon. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and went on to attend Penn State University earning a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary S. Schumacher on July 13, 1974. Darla was a devoted mother of three children, Ehren, Ethan and Natalie. Together, Gary and Darla owned and operated Budget Rental Car and Sales in Boardman for 18 years. She most recently held a clinical director position with Guardian Health Care Center in Youngstown. Darla had a heart of gold and was always willing to help wherever there was a need. Her door was always open to anyone and she was a "mother" to many. She loved all animals and cared for many pets over the years. Darla was a member of many teams and enjoyed several activities including bowling, bocce and golf. She spent many hours planting flowers and enjoyed making wine and loved making jewelry for others. She is survived by her husband, Gary S. Schumacher , her children Ehren (Melissa) of Butler, Penna, Ethan and his girl friend Jesi Crane of Fort Myers, Florida and Natalie (Scott) Norris of New Bern, North Carolina. Her parents Mario and Millie Formichella, mother-in-law Joan C. (Kasula) Schumacher, sisters Gina (David) Stull, Lori (Brian) Williams, Susan Formichella a niece Tavia (Mark) Sinicki and their children Paige, Bailey and Blake. Friends may call from 5 to 8 Friday at Seederly Mong & Beck Funeral Home, in North Lima.
