Obituary

David F. Brown, 57 of New Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 31, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boardman Campus, following a brief illness. David was born on December 26, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Oliver and Grace (Townsend) Brown. Mr. Brown was a lifelong area resident and a 1968 graduate of Canfield High School. He worked for professional Engine Service of Canfield as a generator specialist for eight years, prior to that he worked at Power Equipment of Youngstown. David was a Browns fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In earlier years he loved to play pool and euchre. Mr. Brown was a member of the V.F.W. Men's Auxiliary Post #2799 of New Springfield and the New Waterford Fraternal Order of Eagles #2415. David is survived by his wife, Barbara (Davis) Brown, whom he married on March 26, 2004. Other survivors include two children of Megen Nikkel, one daughter, Charlene M. Brown of Boardman and one son, D. Bradley (Mindy) Brown of Silver City, New Mexico and three step-children, Shelly (Bill) Trapp of New Galilee, Pennsylvania, Marcia Moss of Wellsville, Ohio; one step-son, Raymond (Lori) Moss of New Springfield, Ohio; three sisters, Rebecca (Preston) Bell of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Elaine (Pete) Guy of Leetonia, Ohio, Peggy (Keith) Bonner of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, William O. (Linda) Brown of Gibsonville, North Carolina; and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. Material contributions can be made to the New Springfield V.F.W. building fund in David Brown's name.
