COLUMBIANA - Doris K. Reash, 87, formerly of Columbiana, passed away Monday morning, April 4, 2016 at Parkside Health Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Reash was born on April 30, 1928 in Rocky River, OH, a daughter of Hans and Katherine (Kirk) Petersen Hensel. She graduated Andrew's School for Girls in Willoughby, OH, and attended Kent State University where she met her loving husband, Robert W. Reash. They married on October 2, 1948 and together would raise four children. Doris was a member of Grace Church of Columbiana. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 290, and greatly enjoyed golfing, dancing and gardening. She worked at the family farm in New Waterford, and later at the Columbiana County Courthouse in the Treasurer's office. She retired in 1988, and in 1992 moved to Florida with her husband, spending summers in Columbiana. She always made time for her children and grandchildren, and had a calendar full of sporting and school events which she loved to attend. Her many friends were precious to her. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter Marilyn Ciapala of New Waterford; three sons David of New Waterford, Dale (Kathi) of Tarpon Springs, FL, and Dan(Kim) of East Palestine; seven grandchildren Michelle (Tom) Crawford, Aaron Ciapala, Dan (Tammy) Reash Jr., Doug Reash, Emilee (Craig) Houser, Donavan Reash, and Tess (Jesse Ricketts) Reash; and eight great-grandchildren Jacob, Aubryn, and Alyson Crawford, Grace Houser, Robby Reash, Lyric Ricketts, and Haylee and Izabella Ciapala. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert who passed February 20, 2006, a sister Nancy Wilkinson and a brother Harold (Pete) Petersen. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace United Church of Christ, 140 S. Main St., Columbiana. A committal service will follow in the chapel in Columbiana Cemetery. Following the service, The family would like to extend an invitation for friends and family to gather back at the church for a meal and fellowship.
