Doris G. Yarian, of Uniontown, Ohio, was born on November 21, 1915 and was raised in New Waterford, Ohio, the daughter of Harry and Naomi Metz Unger. She went to be with the Lord, May 11, 2010 at the age of 94. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L Yarian, who passed away on May 19, 2009. They were married on December 2, 1936. Doris was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ronald and Lester Unger, and sisters Avis, Olive, Elizabeth and Hazel. Doris is survived by her daughter, Marcella (Gary) Robinson of Uniontown; three sons, Dennis Yarian of Pennsylvania, James (Dianne) Yarian of Uniontown, and Jon (Sharon) Yarian of Apache Junction, Arizona; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Doris was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church in Uniontown. Mrs. Yarian was what is known today as a stay at home mom, raising four children, serving in Cub Scouts, Brownies and PTA, and always active in church work, teaching S.S. and Bible School. She directed Jr. and Sr. choirs and served as organist when needed. The Yarians spent fifteen winters in Arizona where Mrs. Yarian directed a choral group in Fortuna, De Ora R.V. Park and also sang in her church choir, Gloria De Cristo, in Arizona. Doris was active in the Columbiana County Extension group and the Leetonia Reading. Club. Services will be held at 5 PM on Thursday May 13, 2010 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home In Columbiana, Ohio, with Pastor Jeffrey Hancock, officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday May 13, 2010 only at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Family suggests that tributes be made to the New Waterford United Methodist Church.
