Dorothy Marilyn Berry, Park Vista Retirement Village, age 80 , passed away at 2:01 a.m. Friday June 3, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown from complications of a stroke. Mrs. Berry, the daughter of C. Paul and Ruth (Weaver) Beede, was born on March 3, 1931 in Youngstown, OH. Dorothy enjoyed roller skating up into her 70's. She attended Youngstown State University and studied fine arts. She enjoyed painting, quilting, camping, and playing her organ. She enjoyed tracing her genealogy and traced hers back to the mid 1700's. She was a member of the Mahoning County Genealogical Society, the Youngstown Club of French River, Ontario Canada, and of the Daughter of American Revolution. She had been an accounting clerk for Kraft Foods, and was the secretary for North Lima United Methodist Church in past years. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband James Marion Berry Jr. whom she married April 6, 1951 in San Diego. James died May 6, 1990. Two brothers Edwin Beede and William "Billy" Beede along with one great grandchild also preceed her in death. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Berry, Hubbard, and Scott Berry of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, daughter Susan Black, Youngstown, and sister Virginia Williams of Boardman. Six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive. Services will be held Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, North Lima at 6:00 pm with Rev. David Kidd officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6 pm on Monday June 6, 2011 at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima.
