Dorothy "Dotty" M. Dombroski, 76, passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Boardman at 7:25 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2011, following a two year battle with cancer. Dot was born August 14, 1934, in New Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Erna (Seidner) Allen. She was raised in New Springfield, a high school graduate of Springfield Local, and lived in the Youngstown-Boardman area for fifty-five years. Dorothy worked at Mahoning Bank in Austintown, where she retired after twenty years of service. Dotty enjoyed playing cards, bowling, walking in the Boardman Park with her sisters, and especially loved spending time with her family. Dorothy bowled on leagues at both Camelot and Wedgewood Lanes. She was an active member of the American Business Women Association. Dorothy was also a member of The Wheelmen organization. Dot leaves her husband, Robert Dombroski, whom she married December 8, 1956, her two daughters, Diane Seydlorsky of Boardman and Lori (Ray) Pridgeon of Whiteford, Maryland, two grandsons, Kevin and Ryan Seydlorsky and granddaughter, Shelby Pridgeon. Dorothy was one of eighteen children. She leaves behind seven sisters, Marion Burroughs of Reseda, California, Shirley Wichert of Poland, Virginia McCreery of Boardman, Martha (Tom Fink) Cyrus of New Middletown, Phyllis (Phillip) Simmers of Canfield, Carol (Carl) Osberg and Nancy (Jack) Crouse, all of North Lima; seven brothers, Gene (Bonnie) Allen and Harold (Darla) Allen, all of North Lima, Sam (Dianna) Allen of Boardman, James (Florence) Allen and Donald (Charlotte) Allen, all of Canfield, Thomas (Nancy) Allen of Hubbard and Larry (Audrey) Allen of New Springfield; sister-in-law Donna Allen and brother-in-law, Olin Sheely also of Poland. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Warren and Robert Allen, and sister Geraldine Sheely. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olivet United Church of Christ, 410 West South Range Road, North Lima. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Mount Olivet United Church of Christ and one hour prior to the funeral service at Mount Olivet United Church of Christ on Saturday, August 13, 2011. Dot's family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the Hospice House. Contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 5190 Market St., Boardman. Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
