Obituary

POLAND - Dorothy C. Rassman, 88, passed away Friday morning, August 12 at Hospice House in Poland surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on February 9, 1928, in Ellwood City, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Krupich) Incelewski. A 1946 Ellwood City High School graduate, she married John William Rassman on February 28, 1948. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church since 1965, where she took part in the Jude's Dudes Senior Group and bible studies. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and took art classes in oils and china painting. She is survived by six children Katherine Williamson of Wyoming, Linda (Brian) Russell of Leetonia, Brenda (David) Stryffeler of Columbiana, Mary (Ronald) Dicken of New Waterford, John William (Amy) Rassman of Colorado, and James Paul (Sirlene) Rassman of Massachusetts; 14 grandchildren Teresa Peck, Chad Hawkins, Lauralin Williamson, Ryan Stryffeler, Diana Brake, Sean Stryffeler, Andrew Stryffeler, Eric Stryffeler, Christian Stryffeler, Gail Madill, Nicole Boehrig, Stacey Dicken, Nora Rassman, and Lavinia Rassman; 13 great grandchildren Rick, Katie, Alex, Aydan, Shanna, Azalia, Rogan, Delilah, Kaden, Ava, Cedar, Canyon and Ridge; three great-great grandchildren Blake, Kaleb and Jasper; and one sister Elizabeth Carothers of Poland. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, twin daughters and son-in-law Bill Newton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 180 7th Street, Columbiana with the Fr. Christopher Cicero officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16 at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana, OH, and also from 10-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday August 17 at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to Sophia Women's Center, PO Box 404, Salem, OH 44460, or any pro-life organization. The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
