Dorothy E. Slack, 87, of The Courtyard At Lexington, Salem, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008 following a brief illness. Dorothy was born on July 19, 1920 in Ashland, Ohio, the daughter of Roy and Blanche (Simonton) Gault. Dorothy moved to the local area from Andover, Ohio, ten years ago. She was a member of the Richmond Center Methodist Church. Dorothy was a 1939 Graduate of Ashland High School and then attended Ohio University for one year. Dorothy was preceded in death in June of 1994 by her husband John R. Slack, whom she married July 13, 1940. Mrs. Slack is survived by one daughter; Mrs. Catherine Smith of Columbiana, one son; Mr. Robert (Susan) Slack of Rochester, Indiana and by eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
