Obituary

Edward F. Altomare, age 90, 515 manor circle, Columbiana, OH, passed away at 8:27 am Wednesday, March 09, 2011 at Essex II of Salem. Mr. Altomare, the son of James Vincenzo and Mary (Cerrone) Altomare, was born on September 20, 1920 in Leetonia, OH. Edward was a graduate of Leetonia H.S. He owned and operated The Kimberly Recreation Center on S. Main St., Columbiana, 1964-1977. Prior to that he had sold industrial art equipment to schools for the Freeman Supply Co. of Toledo, OH. He had also worked for W.K. Stamets Co. of Columbiana which had been the Enterprise Co. in earlier years. Edward also served in W.W.II in the Navy. Edward is survived by his wife, Irmgard (Tunnat) Altomare, whom he married June 6, 1941. Survivors also include two daughters, Judi Hetherington of Delaware, OH, and Kimberly Altomare of Carrollton, OH, one son Richard (Karen) Altomare Worthington, OH, and one brother, James (Mary) Altomare, San Diago,CA. Edward is also survived by six grandchildren, Ted, Christian, and Jill Altomare, Gregg Hetherington (Partner Rev Troy Waite) and Teddy and David Hetherington, and one great grandchild, Adin Neely. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Mayernick, and Helen Altomare, and two brothers, Alfred Altomare, and twin Edwin Altomare. Services will be held Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel, at 11:00 am with Reverend Troy Waite officiating. Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
