Eleanor F. Gebhardt, age 81 of New Springfield, OH passed peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Gebhardt, the daughter of Ivor and Grace (Byers) Miles, was born on April 17, 1929 in Boardman, OH. Eleanor was a graduate from Boardman H.S. class of 1947. She attended Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing from where she graduated in 1950 then worked as a registered nurse at the South Side Hospital in Youngstown, from where she retired in 1989. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in New Springfield, OH and also attended Paradise United Church of Christ, Canfield OH. She was active in retired nurses association, YHA School of Nursing Alumni, and the Ohio Farm Bureau. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and spending time with her family. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Ralph C. Gebhardt, whom she married on September 22, 1950. Survivors include, sons Karl (Susan) Gebhardt of Westerville, OH, Ralph (FiancAC. Lynn Goff) Gebhardt of North Lima, OH, and Howard (Missie) Gebhardt of New Springfield, daughter Diane Chlebus (FiancAC. Bill Greenawalt) of Columbiana. She is survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. One sister, Dorothy Lefever and one brother, Al Miles preceded her in death. Services will be held Friday, December 3, 2010 at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home North Lima at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Steve Geitgey officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday December 2, 2010 and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
