Obituary

Eleanor Sutherin, 75, of 150 North Middle St. Columbiana passed away at 5:28 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Salem Community Hospital, where she had been one day. Mrs. Sutherin was born on October 22, 1932 in East Palestine, Ohio, the daughter of James and Muriel Colegrove Manzi. Mrs. Sutherin grew up in East Palestine. She resided in Boulder, Colorado for 30 years, returning to Columbiana 15 years ago. Eleanor was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine. She graduated from East Palestine High School in 1950. Survivors include her husband, James (Jim) W. Sutherin, whom she married October 22, 1952; a daughter, Stephanie Freese and her husband Walt of South Burlington, Vermont; a son, Jimmy W. Sutherin of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Rae Pulch and her husband Gene of Miami, Florida; a brother Corum Manzi of New Waterford and a granddaughter Courtney Freese. Eleanor also had a special lifelong relationship with her nephew Bradley Dodds, his wife Kathy and their children Kalley, Krissy and Brady. Eleanor was preceded in death by two sisters Lucy Dodds and Betty Zimmerman and two brothers Jerry Manzi and Melvin Manzi. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.
