Eric R. Wenger, 41, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 10, 2010. He was born September 8, 1969 in Salem, Ohio to Glen and Ethel Wenger of Columbiana. He is survived by both of his parents, his brother Mark (Candis) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and his sister, Amy (Jeff) Bixler of Worthington, Ohio, along with his nephew and three nieces, Cameron, Eve, Mira and Stella. Eric was a 1988 graduate of South Range High School and a member of Midway Mennonite Church. He spent a year in Albany, Oregon as a participant in Mennonite Voluntary Service Adventure, and worked and lived at Laurelville Mennonite Church Center in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania for seven years. A gifted poet, Eric expressed his faith through verse in a way that has touched the lives of many people. He was a beloved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed by his deep faith, warm heart, quick wit, and contagious laugh. The Wenger family is grateful to Hospice of the Valley and to Parkside Health Care Center for their compassionate care for Eric during the past days, months and years. Memorial contributions may be made to Laurelville Mennonite Church Center, 941 Laurelville Lane, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666, or to Hospice of the Valley at www.hospiceofthevalley.com. Calling hours will be held at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home at 154 S. Elm in Columbiana on Friday, September 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Mennonite Church, 13376 Columbiana-Canfield Road in Columbiana.
