Esther L. Simcox, 89 of 8060 Paulin Dr. Poland, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home at 7:04 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011. Esther was born August 6, 1921 in New Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Paul A. and Clara A. Paulin Sitler. Mrs. Simcox was a homemaker. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland where she was a member of the women's circle, had sung in the choir and had been a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Esther was a volunteer for Shepherd of the Valley Cookie Cart. She also was a member of a bowling league for many years. Esther enjoyed baking, crocheting, canning, gardening and being with her loved ones. Mrs. Simcox was a graduate of Springfield Local High School in 1939. Esther was preceded in death on July 30, 2005, by her husband, Harold J. Simcox. They were married May 18, 1943. She is survived by a daughter Lorraine Simcox of Poland, with whom she lived; two sons, Allan Simcox of Boardman and Jerry and his wife Vickie of West Manchester, OH; a sister, Mary Day of Poland; six grandchildren Scott and his wife Robin, Stacey, Jason, Jared, Stephanie, Jessica; one great-grandson Luke and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland with Pastor Julieann Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima on Monday, June 27, 2011 and 1 hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland.
