Obituary

Eugene John Dudash, 77, Kingwood Drive Columbiana went to be with the Lord Monday, April 5th at Parkside Health Care Center where he was a resident for 3 weeks, due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. His loving family and Pastor were at his side. He was born August 26th, 1933 the son of the late Steven and Susan Gombash Dudash, in Emlenton, PA. Mr. Dudash served 7 years in the U. S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He retired in 1999, with 40 years of service, from National Refractories (formerly Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation) in Columbiana. He traveled extensively both nationally and internationally. He was an active member for 50 years at Calvary United Methodist Church in North Lima where he held many offices and "retired" as Sunday School attendance recorder, treasurer and "Bell Ringer". He was a life member of the VFW, past president of Beaver Coin Club, Cubmaster of Pack 16 and Coin collecting merit badge counselor for Troop 18 of Columbiana. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Hazel, his three sons; Alan (Sharen) of Alexandria, VA, Christopher (Vicki) of Cincinnati, OH, and Bruce (Janese) of Hickory Creek, TX. As well as his six grandchildren: Cody, Cora, Madeline, Danielle, Jacob and Alexander, and his step granddaughter, Holly. He is also survived by his two sisters, Susan Fine of Coshocton, PA, Julie (Frank) Reichart of Edenboro, PA and his brother Robert (Shirley) Dudash of Warren, OH. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Esther Spencer of Warren, OH and his brother Steven of Seneca, PA. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, metal detecting, bee-keeping, searching for arrowheads, spending time outdoors and watching his children and grandchildren in their many activities. A celebration of his life will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, North Lima, on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00am with Pastor Renae Meggitt officiating. Family and friends may call at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana on Friday, April 8th from 5pm to 8pm and one hour prior to the funeral at Calvary United Methodist Church on Saturday.In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts may be made to "Calvary United Methodist Church building fund", 12062 South Ave. North Lima OH 44452.
