Evelyn M. Kandray, 77, of Columbiana, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Blossom Nursing Home. Evelyn was born November 17, 1931 in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Grace (Swarner) Wagner. Evelyn moved to the local area in 1952 and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, and the Ladies Guild of the church in Columbiana. Mrs. Kandray was an avid bowler and a longtime member of a ladies card club. Evelyn is survived by her husband William Kandray, whom she married on October 20, 1951. Other survivors include, two daughters, Stephanie (Gary) Bush of Alliance, Ohio, Lori (Bruce) Foraker of Durham, North Carolina; four sons, Michael (Stephanie) Kandray of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Mark (Mary) Kandray of McHenry, Illinois, Bob (Carrie) Kandray of Marienville, Pennsylvania, Dan (Tammie) Kandray of Gnadenhutten, Ohio; one brother, James Wagner of Butler, Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana with Rev. Thomas Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. The family suggest that material tributes be made to St. Jude Catholic Church.
