Obituary

F. Lucille Yoder Detrow, 91, of Woodville Road, Leetonia, Ohio, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on September 30, 2010, at Parkside Health Care Center following a long illness. Lucille was born on February 24, 1919 in McPherson County, Kansas, the daughter of the late Stephen A. and Esther Mae (Lehman) Yoder. At age four, her family moved to Harper, Kansas. In 1935 the family moved to Ohio and became members of Leetonia Mennonite Church, where her father served as pastor for 19 years. Lucille played an active part in many church activities including, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Superintendent and teacher. She served 29 years with Ten Thousand Villages Store, formerly "Self-Help." Lucille is survived by her husband, Arthur Detrow, whom she married on November 29th, 1941. She is also survived by one daughter, Darlene (Gary) Martin of Leetonia, Ohio; four sons, Ralph (Kathy) Detrow of Dalton, Ohio, Ron (Jan) Detrow of Boardman, Ohio, David (Charmaine) Detrow of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Paul (Donna) Detrow of Huntsburg, Ohio; one brother, Harold Yoder of Goshen, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Detrow was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Yoder. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Leetonia Mennonite Church with Pastor Phil Slabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2010 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 all at the Leetonia Mennonite Church, 764 Columbia Street, Leetonia. The family suggests material contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley or to Ten Thousand Villages in care of the Leetonia Mennonite Church.
