Obituary

F. Jean Lossick F. Jean Lossick, 58, of Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, passed away on Friday, July 27th due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Jean was born on October 29, 1948 in Salem. She was the daughter of Francis G. (Kiki) and Mary Kathleen Gavin Morelli and grew up in Leetonia. Jean's mother passed away on February 17, 1998. Jean was a 1972 graduate of Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing, and was honored as "Best All Around Nurse" in her class. She worked at N.R.M. Corp. and Warren General Hospital, as well as for Dr. Joseph G. Lossick's family practice in Leetonia for several years. Jean traveled extensively and resided in West Virginia, Columbus, and Atlanta, Georgia before returning to live in Columbiana in 1991. Jean also served as an adult literacy tutor in Columbus, and as a reading tutor at Washingtonville School. Jean loved shopping, sending greeting cards, and following the Cleveland and Ohio State athletic teams. She was an avid participant in numerous sports until her health began to decline. Jean was a faithful member of St. Jude Catholic Church and watched a televised Mass each Sunday. Jean was married to Dr. Joseph G. Lossick on June, 23, 1977 in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Dr. Lossick passed away on April 28, 1991. Jean is survived by her father of St. Mary's Alzheimer Center in Columbiana, her sisters Tina Dailey (Bob) of Columbiana, Valerie Miller (Steve) of Parma, and a brother, Dan Morelli of Leetonia. Jean had two nieces, Shannon Hauser and Andrea Miller, and two nephews, Robert Dailey Jr. and Adrian Miller. She also leaves her Aunts Nora Morelli and Helen Butch, her Goddaughter Cara Stephens, and numerous special cousins and friends. Jean was an unfailing source of inspiration and joy, and a shining example of perseverance to all who knew her. Memorial donations can be made to the M.S. Society Ohio Buckeye Chapter at 6155 Rockside Road, Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7 PM on Thursday evening, Aug. 2nd, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 180 7th St., Columbiana, with Fr. Ed Wieczorek and Fr. Thomas Ziegler celebrating the mass. Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana is handling the arrangements.
